Pixel 2 XL and VoLTE

Hi all,

I was quite excited to join Boost after I realised that Boost supported VoLTE, and unlike other Telstra resellers, Boost accesses the full Telstra 4G network including 4GX.

I confirmed through a Boost 24x7 chat, that Pixel 2 XL in fact supports VoLTE.

Pixel 2 XL Specification supports the following LTE bands:

band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 25(1900), 26(850), 28(700), 29(700),30(2300), 32(1500), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500), 66(1700/2100)

To my disappointment, while I am on 4G, and I try to make a call, it falls back to 3G.

I rang Boost immediately. They ran a test, did a network update, and asked me to power down, wait 2 minutes and power on again. Unfortunately it is the same.

What do you think I could try further?

It is worth noting that the only reason I was excited to join Boost was to take advantage of VoLTE on my phone because that is something Optus did not support on my phone.

I have ensured the settings below support VoLTE:

Thanks,
Michael

Re: Pixel 2 XL and VoLTE

For those who don't have VoLTE on their Pixel 2 XL, I suggest you do the 24x7 Chat. When I rang Boost, that person did not how to fix it. I was lucky with this person today:

Gelleen Joy: It has a different platform, it shows here that the device is supported by VOLTE and you can enable it also on your end, somehow for it to fully worked it also need to actiavte it here under our system.
