have a motorola g7 plus. if i add a contact, messages will display the conversation with the contact name. if i add a contact for a mobile boost number, message will display the conversation with the phone number only! Is there an issue with "0492" not being recognised as a valid mobile number? Motorola support had no idea on this issue.
I recently changed to a Motorola phone also, and had the same issue when I first got it (with only some random contacts, not only the ones that use Boost).
Upon research, it appears something glitchy in one of the updates to the Messages app itself.

I uninstalled the Message app (which downgraded the version only), then clearing the cache + storage of the app, worked for me. I have since upgrated the Messages app again, and it is all working still;

Unbelievably this worked! I uninstalled the app and like you said it just downgraded the version. Contact name appeared. Didn't clear the cache or storage. Updated app to latest version, names still there! Woo hoo! Thanks
