Want to keep your mobile number?

So heaps of you have heard that Living UNLTD™ with Boost Mobile is the way to go and you want to keep your existing mobile number with you. Check out our top tips below, which will help us bring your number over as hassle free, and quickly as possible.

 

 

IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR NUMBER - IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW...

To keep the number you’ve got, you must activate your new BOOST Mobile SIM using our chat  or by calling 125 8881.  

 

IMPORTANT:  If you activate your new BOOST Mobile SIM using our online system at boost.com.au, you will activate the number printed on your BOOST Mobile SIM starter kit – not a mobile number you may want to keep from an existing service provider.  

 

 

MAKE SURE YOUR MOBILE PHONE IS COMPATIBLE AND YOU’VE GOT A BOOST MOBILE SIM CARD

Make sure your phone is unlocked, and 850MHz compatible. Then check the SIM card you’ve got is a BOOST one – it’ll have the BOOST Mobile logo on it.

 

Our customer care agent will ask for the Service (mobile) number or SIM serial number which is printed on your BOOST Mobile SIM starter kit.

 

 

CHECK YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS HELD BY YOUR EXISTING CARRIER

You need to make sure that your name and DOB match up with your existing account held details and if you are keeping your number from a post-paid account, you'll need your account number. This is a really important one, as any incorrect details, name spellings, account details will result in a significantly delay.

 

 

GET YOUR ID READY

We will activate your new Boost Mobile service as part of the porting process, so you will need to provide our customer care agent with some ID details.  Please have one of the following valid forms of ID handy when you call us to port and activate your Boost Mobile service

  • Passport
  • Australian Driver's licence
  • Medicare card
  • Birth certificate
  • Tertiary education ID

 

CHANGE YOUR PHONE SETTINGS

If you have a phone that is 850MHz compatible but was previously used on a different network you will need to change some settings for your phone to work on the Telstra 3G Mobile network.  For more information check out our Knowledge based article at the Boost Community  http://community.boost.com.au/t5/Setup-Device-Support/What-settings-do-I-need-to-change-on-my-850MHz...

 

 

If you wish to bring your number from Telstra, you’ll need a Blank SIM pack. Please follow the below steps. 

1. Either call 125 8881 or head to livechat.boost.com.au to request a Blank SIM pack. 
2. When the Boost Mobile Blank SIM Pack arrives follow the normal process of activation, stressing that you are porting from TELSTRA to Boost Mobile. 
3. Porting can take up to 48 hours. Please make sure that your new account details match with your existing account to ensure that this process is as short as possible.

 

Bringing your number over can take up to 48 hours to go through, but by following the tips above you give yourself the best chance of getting up and running on Boost Mobile as quickly as possible.
