Re: Recharge overseas

This is bad advice.

Firstly the number you have given is for callers in Australia, secondly live chat won't help with overseas requests - they just direct you to do the things that are impossible, being overseas.

Live chat provided me with a number for an "overseas team":

Do not worry We have a Overseas special team who deals with Recharge request. As you are our valued customer all you need to do is call our specialised Team on +61 439 125 109.

Admittedly I haven't actually called it yet, but your overseas special team is a mobile number?

Re: Recharge overseas

Hi captluthra,

There are four ways to recharge:

  1. On our app – download android download ios
  2. Online
  3. Dialing #111# from your phone (this may not work whilst overseas)
  4. care.boost.com.au from your phone’s browser

You can pay with a credit card, PayPal or a voucher purchased from a retailer. We also have an auto recharge option, so you can set that up and concentrate on more important things.

If you are having difficulties, please clear your cookies, cache and browser history on your computer or mobile device and try recharging again.

However if you are still unable to recharge please contact Boost on live chat for further assistance.

Re: Recharge overseas

I’m also having problems while overseas in Vietnam. I made sure that roaming was enabled and I purchased the add on so it would work. I’m set up so that missed/unanswered calls go to a text message. So the way it should work is I won’t answer any calls but just let them send me a free message, I don’t make any calls or send any messages so I shouldn’t actually use any of the $ from the add-on. I use wifi for all internet (have switched off mobile data) and keep in contact with family via Facebook messenger. After a week I hadn’t received any messages about missed calls so I asked a family member to call from an Australian landline. It just made a few beeping noises for them and didn’t go to the usual blurb about a text message being sent. So I decided to call #111# to see what my balance was and found I only had .80cents so I quickly used it to recharge another add-on but now I’m worried this will mysteriously disappear again. I really need to talk to someone but I’m worried it will take all my credit while I wait to find someone who can help. Any advice please

Re: Recharge overseas

Hi SueCan,

The call rates when roaming in Vietnam are $2 per minute, so this is why it may feel like you are going through your credit faster than expected.

You will need to contact Boost to investigate any issues with your service as this is a community forum and we cannot access your private information.

I would recommend you contact Boost via on live chat (24hrs, 7 days) when you have access to Wi-Fi and they will be able to assist.

Re: Recharge overseas

Hi There,

Overseas recharge is not working in New Caledonia ! It is only 3 hours flight from Sydney but there is no way to recharge !!!! You can’t call short number and when you are out of credit you can’t call Australian number either.., no way to contact the support and the chat is not working.
If I’m connecting on local WIFI the Apps don’t start and ask me to turn off WIFi and without WIFI can connect to by credit : no roaming data even if it is activated... looks like Boost has no data roaming agreement !!!
So I’m stuck with expired and no way to recharge...

Re: Recharge overseas

I am also having difficulty recharging while overseas. I am in the UK and cannot access either of those two websites. The #111# number has never worked for me even in Australia.
And I agree the customer support team are appalling. Very unhelpful and also rude.
I actually rang them before I left to make sure I knew how to recharge while overseas and they assured me I would be able to do it online. Their last suggestion today was that I ring someone in Australia in the middle of the night, ask them to buy a voucher for me, ring me overseas so that I can then ring Boost (if I can get through) and provide them with the voucher number so that they can then add the data to my phone. This is a joke.
I am so tired of dealing with Boost staff who just seem to tell me rubbish whenever I talk with them. All I can say is that I had better not loose my rollover data because there are no options to recharge overseas.

Re: Recharge overseas

So how does this ‘ Boost community’ work? Does anyone from Boost actually read what people are asking and offer any support?

Re: Recharge overseas

I read this thread and was sadden. NO USEFUL HELP from Boost. I will be quick as I can here. The only way I found to get the job done was download an App called Rebtel. It's free to download. After you have it installed use the app to call Boost 1 888 266 7848. Follow the prompts for one time payment. All calls to the U.S are free. Hope this helps more than Boost. Also hopefully someone with a brain at Boost will finally solve the Web connection issue for the paying customers.
