A prepaid SIM on Optus can be activated on-line using an international credit card as ID (instead of AU driver license, AU passport, Medicare card, etc).
Can I activate a Boost SIM in a similar manner using an international credit card as ID??
A_Tourist who will be visiting AU soon (and who doesn't have AU passport, drivers license, etc).

Thank you DrQ. That's what I suspected. Problem is that tourists newly arrived in Australia usually don't have internet access, and thus can't contact the Boost chat team (livechat.boost.com.au) until after the SIM is activated. Nor can they use the /findstore search tool to find a nearby Telstra store unless their SIM is active. Catch-22.
It looks like Optus has a much better activation process for visitors. It's my understanding that the Optus system lets a tourist activate their SIM using international credit card as ID, and can be done before arriving in the country.
Thanks for your help.
I've marked DrQ's response as a 'solution' to my question. I suspect he/she is correct, though I have no way to verify that Boost won't accept an international credit card as ID to activate a SIM. I won't have an opportunity to find out until I visit Australia next month. Judging from the many posts on the topic, activation of Boost SIMs appears to be a common problem.
