Number porting

I recently came to boost from vodafup. Why after 4 phone calls can’t boost complete the porting of my number? Why does any activity with ant telco take an hour or two and numerous phone calls. I’ve asked boost but they don’t know the answer, and they still can’t fully port my existing number.

If telcos can’t do telco the where do we go?

If the port seems to be taking an excessive amount of time (more than 2-3 business days) it's quite often an indicator that the port has failed, or there is an issue with the company you are porting from not releasing the number, most often because the information given did not match the records held by the carrier you're parting company with so they won't let it go as you would rightly expect

 

Name and date of birth is normally all that's needed for a port to be approved but if for whatever reason the details held aren't accurate the port will fail. I suggest you first call your old provider to check that the order has completed and the port is ready to come to Boost.

I have a similar problem, I have checked with my previous carrier and they have passed the number over to Boost. My number is waiting for the IT provisioning team to complete the porting. I have waited 14 days so far and have spent over 12 hours on the phone and on the boost app trying to sort the issue out. Each time they say they have prioritised my problem and it should be fixed in 24-48 hours. Today I tried to cancel my boost service so that I could go with a different carrier. Boost informed me that I couldn't until they had finished provisioning my mobile number. Unfortunately for me it is my business number and worse still I chose Boost so that I could get better mobile service as I am currently receiving treatment for cancer and must be able to contact my Oncologist quickly if after any treatment I have an adverse reaction. I would recommend that if your mobile service is crucial it may be better to choose another mobile phone provider.
