My number is currently still in the process of porting after 8 days. I just don't even know if anything is happening. I've called multiple times to telstra, and they haven't given me any useful information. I was wondering if they eventually port your number after 7 days of waiting, or is this process just a lost cause.

I’m still waiting too. Been 4 days. Not happy, I don’t think it will work
Update 2
Sim still not activated, Telstra never called me back, so I decided to call them, 1.5 hours on hold later, they escalate the issue further and tell me to wait 3-5 business days for an update. I get an SMS the next saying that my port has been delayed, what a shock, and to call them to follow up on the delay.
So I slog through the Telstra waiting music for over an hour again to talk to a rep. The rep this time tells me that my issue was escalated to the wrong team and has moved the ticket to another one. Apparently, there is a glitch currently in their porting system which is causing delays for mobile ports.
I was assured that my sim would be activated within the next 24-48 hours. So that's where I'm at. I guess for all of you who are still experiencing delays should just try to call the Telstra porting team at 1800 631 334 so they can escalate your case as well (even though it probably won't do anything). Just hope you can be on hold for over an hour. Good Luck
It has been 13 days for me. Icalled numerous times and had to wait more than an hour. When I got through, the customer service struggled to find my details, when she did, she fumbled again for several minutes trying to find out what was the issue. In the end, she couldn't fix it and said there was nothing that she could do other than sending the higher ups an email. I received an sms soon after, saying that it will be ported in the next 24 hrs. 8 days later, it is still not ported. I am wrote them an email (compliancemanager@boost.com.au) and will report it to the ombudsman if nothing is done by eob tomorrow.
Been waiting two weeks & no contact from Boost - first phone was done same day late last year. They are useless - how can these companies run like this - Telstra, Auspost etc. We need to start a petition to get the management sacked as they have been shown to be completely incompentent.
I bought a sim literally 8 days ago now and still no porting of my previous number. called and stayed on the phone for an hour and half and gave up.
live chat no one is answering, just automated messages.
only thing left for me is to contact the telecommunications ombudsman
Does anyone know whether these porting issues are due to problems at Boost or problems at Telstra? If the problem lies at Telstra then that would confirm that I am on the right track in moving from Telstra to Boost. If the problem lies at Boost then it would probably be unwise to move my service to Boost. I am looking for solid but basic performance from my future telco, and you would think that porting-in would be the one function that should be as efficient and streamlined as possible in order to attract new customers.
